Sam Fresquez is an intermedia artist whose work centers around how beliefs get passed down from generation to generation. This oftentimes means looking towards institutions and communities that play a role in her life. For example the Catholic Church, the United Stated Education System and Nascar. She is interested in how we can honor tradition without following blindly.
Sam Fresquez is an multimedia artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. She is currently an Undergraduate at Arizona State University working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Intermedia Art with a minor in Spanish. Her work has been exhibited Nationally and Internationally. In 2017 her work was shown at the Farmington Art Museum’s National Juried Exhibition, and she was included in the 2018 Arizona Biennial at the Tucson Museum of Art. She is also currently the Artist in Residence at Xico Arte y Cultura where she curated her first group Exhibition this spring.
